99% isopropyl alcohol in an ultrasonic cleaner (or scrubbed with a brush / Q tip) always works well for me.
Thanks for creating. I was considering to replace battery, but after watching the video, I'll pass. I don't have all the tools you have.
NIce build, way simpler than many, just what I need for the base of my 15M radio tower
Need soarce code
Check the description of video, it's all linked from there.
Thanks! I would like to see TS101 with PD 3.1 140W.
IPA removes/dissolves most flux and doesn't harm the plastic. Cellulose paint thinner thoroughly removes flux faster than IPA but will melt certain kink of soft plastic. Acetone removes flux at thinner strength level and will melt plastic if it's left too long. It's cheaper than IPA and thinner if you want to dip the whole mobo. Of all three, Acetone tends to leave some marks. Flux in low frequency applications is harmless but in high frequency, it's lethal.
Thank you for taking the time to make this comparison video.
conclusion: @13:13
Great video, thanks. Unfortunately, in the process of replacing the batteries, I killed the LEDs that indicate 🔋 and charging etc.
Thank you for the video. I disassembled mine for cleaning because the slide switch was not fully functional. Can't say much for German engineering since the thing was absolutely full of whiskers. It really should be sealed or shielded better given its intended use. Oh no thank you again
This procedure worked perfectly on my 15+ year old 8975. I upgraded the battery from 1500 mAh to 2300 mAh, cleaned out 15 years worth of gunk, and it runs like new.
I dont think you used enough of each chemical, or brushed everywhere
I love watching skilled, knowledgeable people clean things for soldering and then wiping them with their oily fingers.🤣. Really good info. I'm going to do mine.
Sorry if I missed it but may I know which flux you were using beforehand?
I would highly recommend using gloves with the 99% IPA (probably all of the others, too) if you do a lot of cleaning. It will damage the skin on your fingers and it is not easy to get them healed back up.
You don’t supposed to hold down the power button just push it and let off the button
Didn't expect to find a video for my shaver. That doesn't happen often. :-) Thanks. Very helpful.
the yihua is not very flexible in the cable but it is resistant to heat, it should be clarified. good video
Zippo lighter fluid
awesome...had this shaver for over 20 years and it was excellent. But the batteries were not holding the charge. I bought replacement batteries with the tabs and I'll be using the video to replace mine. Thanks
I worked in a PCB ASSEMBLY 20 years ago, I remember using toothbrush and dipping it in the cleaner and brushed off the flux residue until it completely removed, NOT dipping the PCB BOARD... As I can remember it was alcohol...
Why is the expensive one the winner if it does the same thing?
I've never heard of using anything besides IPA.
I followed your directions exactly, even made a solder bridge and had to redo it. Perfect informative video, Thanks!!
Lost the cord to my newer shaver, found my old Braun in the drawer, i prefer this old unit anyway, thanks for the vid, it'll be getting new batteries this weekend i think
Great, thanks so much and for the insider tips on solder and solder vac, this short cut might help ruclips.net/video/6zYVK7KIX0U/видео.html
Denatured Alcohol works the best, It is quick acting and also evaporates faster.
I guess they didn’t offer the molded NEMA 14-XX plug back then. That’s the one that’s missing the neutral so you can use it with a 14-30, 14-50, or 14-60 outlet without changing the plug. You can buy a universal plug from most hardware stores with multiple neutral blades that can be swapped or repositioned to fit 14-30, 14-50, and 14-60… but that kind won’t be sealed against liquids or spiders and such. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the OpenEVSE does not even use neutral so you might as well leave that prong out. Anyway, my criticisms would’ve included price since you could literally buy multiple pre-built EVSEs for that. Heck, you can buy one for the cost of the J1772 Type 1 Plug/Cord alone… with the exact same Dostar plug! Maybe they should’ve designed OpenEVSE to fit one of those enclosures for a quick board-swap. ;) Another criticism is that they sell the J1772 plug with and without the cable but they do not sell the cable without the plug. Just what are you supposed to do with the plug?! They act like you don’t have to buy their assembled cable because they provide assembly instructions for crimping and assembling the plug. Their guide even has separate links for the plug and cable but the plug link is broken and the cable links incorrectly links to the plug. Of course, they also neglect to give you enough info in the guide to look it up the cable yourself. I ended up getting a used plug and cable for $50 to use with a $30 ClipperCreek control board and $20 enclosure since it was about the only way to stay under the $180-$200 price for the cheapest portable Level 2 EVSEs. Even then, I’m pushing the same price as a used AmazingE unit with the exact same control board, especially after including cable glands and wall plugs and such. I want to support OpenEVSE but it seems more expensive than a pre-built unit. Perhaps someone will add cool functionality, like mobile notifications when your car is done charging or triggering your car’s alarm when unplugged like the Volt portable EVSE can do (not sure how that works).
Great video, thanks. I've tried to replace the batteries on 7680 which comes with a digital display. After 10 to 20 mins charge it overheats and "temp!" displays on the digital display. I've tried this with 2500mAh, 1900mAh, 1500mAh and 1200mAh batteries, same outcome. I wonder what could be wrong! Any ideas?
It is necessary to put batteries with a capacity of no more than 800 mah.
OUTSTANDING Job!!
Here’s the best flux cleaner, Isopropyl Alcohol, it also works to sanitize wounds and can be used as fuel
Where did you get the new one at?
aliexpress was about $15
One side has the switch position markings.
Great Video. Isn't there a charging issue if the mAh value is above the original Batteries?
Solvent resistant "printer swabs" are cheap in bulk and amazingly handy around the shop.
Maybe first clean all that nasty hairs and the start repair?
Спасибо.Хороший обзор.У меня тоже такой же паяльник.Правда.нет аккумулятора с PD выходом.У меня был выбор между TS100 и ,TS80P, но я купил TS100 ,поскольку он мощнее.
What's the lowest voltage and mAh i could use on my ts100
0 Volt
this is great if you still have a TS100. I got a Pinecil which already has both Usb-C power port & DC port, which is upgrade to ts-100. This video has good tips about how to make extra silicone wires since I need to make to go to 18V power tool batteries to Pinecil.
My 7526 is 16 years old and barely holds a charge. Will there be a problem if I don't replace the batteries and plug it in to shave ?
Apart from saving the materials from the landfills the 7526 had a 'random' foil pattern that works excellent for my facial hair; actually have the newer Series 7 with the hexagonal/honeycomb modular pattern and it grabs and pulls. Dug out this old one to find out why it worked so well and I suspect its because the foil is both recessed plus close up inspection of the foils will reveal it has random* perforations
Interesting... it’s giving me ideas for my own setup tyvm
That brush has seen better days
I installed the battery’s and plugged it in for a charge. Charging light does not come on and the shaver gets warm
A couple of things to check, make sure you have the batteries the right way around, if you're looking at the shaver with the connector at the bottom, the left battery is positive on the top, and right battery is negative on the top (obviously different than the bottom). Second, make sure there isn't a short between the connector at the bottom and the bottom of the battery, if there is put a little tape between the two. Lastly, on the top battery, make sure you haven't blobbed the solder, it's easy to short out one of the contacts to another that it shouldn't connect to.
@@Boffin55 The new rechargeable battery’s are in but they don’t take charge after a full four hour charging. I plug the unit into the outlet and it will work but will not charge the newly installed rechargeable battery’s, interesting 🤔
어떤 사이즈의 드라이버를 사용해야 하나요?
Wouldn't the solder joints on the USB-C PD adapter work if you just flood the contact pads with solder and solder the wires directly on instead of putting them through the holes? Or is it stronger that way? (in terms of pulling the USB plug out for example)
Are YOU Kidding me, WHAT is there to See? NO Before, so after doesn't matter.
hey buddy, whats awg gauge of the wire used? 10 gauge or 12 gauge ? thanks alot
You should be fine with 18. the TS100 will draw perhaps 2A
MG Chemicals recommend you use a hog hair brush cat. #852 with flux remover. It will last a hundred times longer than a toothbrush and won't harm the surface of plastics and electronics.
Where do they find cats with hog hair to make the brushes from?
@rd00d At the same place as you'll find unicorns. In this specific instance "cat." stands for CATALOG as opposed to "small feline that likes to be petted". Add a few neurons and you'll figure it out.
@@francoisleveille409 I knew lol I was just being stupid. I usually use those brushes you get like in a gun cleaning kit with the black (nylon maybe?) bristles. I'll look into those hog hair brushes tho.
@@Blinkerd00d Keeping your sanity requires being stupid a few times a year. Just make sure you don't damage your electronics when it happens as you could lose money and the sum of your precious work.
@@francoisleveille409 oh no- I take my circuits very seriously. I love what I do. I love the smell of solder in the morning lol
